TWO councillors were co-opted to Bovey Tracey Town Council at a recent meeting.

Cllr Lisa Robillard-Webb and Cllr Hannah Mills-Brown were duly elected to represent Heathfield ward.

What happened elsewhere in the meeting?

► Councillors agreed to establish a group to recommend actions to promote more effective communication between the Council and the community.

► Delegated authority was given to the Recreation, Parks and Property committee to select and appoint the successful tender for the Mill Marsh Park Play Area Redevelopment; should an appointment be made it is anticipated the work will begin in September.

► The Southwest in Bloom 2023 judging will take place on Tuesday, July 11.

► The Carnival Committee will begin summer celebrations with 'Picnic in the Park' on Saturday, July 29, which will be followed by a fun-filled week ending with the Carnival on Saturday, August 5, and the Summer Fete on Sunday, August 6.

► Councillors agreed to discuss a hedgehog project proposal at the next meeting of the Recreation, Parks and Property committee on Monday, July 10.

► Cllr Glen Kennedy was nominated as the council representative for Heathfield Rail Link Project.


The next meeting of Full Council will take place at 7pm on Monday, September 18, at the Riverside Community Centre.
