Walking the plank, crawling through tunnels and other daring deeds posed no problems for the youngsters at Abbrook Baby and Toddler Group, Kingsteignton, last week.

The intrepid infants tackled an assault course devised by organisers Nanette Yearsley and Rebecca Thayer, the aim being to have fun and raise funds.

With mums rising magnificently to their own challenge, to find sponsors for their offspring, the group is now £170 better off.

'There are always things we need to buy and costs like insurance to cover,' said Mrs Yearsley.

'The children loved completing the course and thanks to them and their families we've a bit more in the bank now. We're very grateful indeed.'
