BUCKFASTLEIGH rallied to the cause in style to help a mum and her teenage twin boys raise money for a major cancer charity over the weekend.
Sally Hyde and 14-year-old sons Harry and George Parnell – both fighting off the effects of Hodgkin's lymphoma – were overwhelmed by the support the town gave them for their coffee and cake morning in aid of Cancer Research.
They were hoping to raise a modest £500 for the worthy cause but the townsfolk of Buckfastleigh and the rest of south Devon had different ideas.
Hundreds of them turned up to support Saturday's event in the town hall which raised more than £1,400, with the total still moving upwards.
