ARTEFACTS from Buckfastleigh's rich history have started trickling in to what is to become the town's new museum.

Funded with a £33,300 Heritage Lottery Grant, the museum will occupy a large room above the tourist information centre in Fore Street, next to the Valiant Soldier time-capsule pub.

Manager Sandra Coleman said that they aren't accepting donations officially. The room is awaiting decoration and a temperature control system and will hopefully be ready early next year.

'But if someone comes over from Canada and says their mother was born here and they give you lots of photographs and say they're going back to Canada, you're not going to say no, are you?' she said.
