A TEIGNBRIDGE library looking to start a free autism friendly sensory group is seekig donations of sensory toys.

Sensory toys are toys that encourage the use of one or more of the senses; touch, sight, smell, taste, hearing and so on.

Some examples of the types of items we would appreciate donations of; fidget toys, cubes, soft, squishy toys and animals, textural toys such as puzzle and playmats and toys that make a noise like rainmakers and maracas.

‘If you have some items that you think may be suitable but you’re not sure please feel free to contact us or bring the items in and we can see whether they’re suitable’ a spokesman for Newton Abbot Library said.
