Tributes have poured in for a Chudleigh man who died suddenly while on a night out in Cardiff late last month, writes Dawn Ellis.

A post-mortem revealed that Martin Philips, 39, died from a brain haemorrhage on May 29.

Mr Philips moved to Ashburton from London in 1983, attended South Dartmoor Community College and completed an agricultural course at Bicton College. He worked at Staplehill Farm, Forches Cross.

Mart, as he was affectionately called, later started a new career in the building trade and set up his own company.
