A TROPHY has been presented to the winners of the sixth annual shop mobility challenge in Newton Abbot.

Joanna Williams and Amanda Angus from solicitors Wollen Michelmore were crowned champions of the event, which sees able-bodied people completing a series of challenges and sampling life from the seat of a mobility scooter.

This year 11 raring-to-go participants took part in the spectacle, organised by the town’s community transport association, including the mayor Cllr Liz Roberts and deputy mayor Cllr Ann Jones.

Kay Yendall the association’s manager said: ‘All participants enjoyed the challenge and found it really worthwhile, in just 45 minutes perceptions were changed forever.’
