A WOODLAND burial site and new footpath in Christow are up for discussion with residents at a village meeting.

The potential projects will be debated when the Christow Community Land Trust holds its annual meeting tomorrow.

The trust is the charity which oversaw delivery of the village’s Stafford Close eco-housing project. Now it’s turning its attention to other community benefit schemes. It’s also looking for an additional director to join the board.

Chairman Tony Cook said: ‘The trust draws a modest income from the ground rent at Stafford Close and we’re determined the money will work for Christow and its people.

‘We’re keen to hear what residents might like and are inviting everyone to share their thoughts at our AGM.

‘Absolutely nothing has been decided at this stage, it’s all up for discussion.’

Tony said residents’ involvement in the Stafford Close project spurred its success, and hoped input would continue for the burial site and footpath.

‘It’s only because we had such a good level of public involvement in the past that we were able to complete the Stafford Close development in a manner that reflected local needs,’ he added.

‘We hope the same level of interest will be evident as the trust turns its attention to other aspects of village life.

‘We’re also very keen to hear from anyone who might like to join the board. It’s not an onerous position by any means but it’s one that could make a great contribution to Christow.’

The annual meeting is in the Teign Valley Community Hall from 7.30pm
