A RETIRED civil engineer who was awaiting a liver transplant died in the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital after a nasogastric tube ended up in his right lung instead of his stomach.

Now the hospital trust has tightened up on this procedure and brought in new measures to ensure there is no tragic repetition.
