Broadmeadow STFC U8s and U9s had a real treat in training when Exeter City right back Steve Tully came to offer his expertise and train with the two squads.

Fresh from winning promotion back to the football league with City, Tully took time out to offer advice and tips to the players.

More than 20 children took part in the session, each getting tuition from Tully, as well as a signed certificate of participation.

Matt Jacques, U9s' manager said: 'We were really delighted that Steve was able to come and train with us. It gave the boys a great buzz to meet a real footballer.'

Tully was pleased to be able to help: 'I really enjoyed the session and there are some really good players at Broadmeadow.'

The session rubbed off on the U8s in particular, who won their first game of the season 6-1, while the U9s drew 1-1 with WBB.
