POLICE looking for a missing person on the south Devon coast found two bodies within 12 hours just 200 metres apart.
Officers searching for 39-year-old David Cauldwell found human remains last night on the coastal footpath at Petitor Woods on the Teignbridge side of Torquay.
The bones had been exposed after a recent landslide. They are thought to have been at the spot for possibly two years
And this morning officers located a second, more recent body nearby.
Mr Cauldwell’s family have been told of the latest discovery made at 8.10am today.
Police say there is no link between today’s find and the bones uncovered yesterday at 8.45pm.
But they did reveal their investigations into the discovery of the bones had prompted a review of outstanding missing persons.
Mr Cauldwell was last seen at Torquay’s Artful Dodger pub late last Saturday night.
Ashburton-based Dartmoor Rescue Group were among the specialists involved in the coastal searches.
