SWIMMERS are being urged to get in training for this year's sponsored swim to raise funds for Rowcroft Hospice.
The one mile swim takes place on Sunday, September 4, from Teignmouth beach.
Last year, more than 180 swimmers took part in the challenge for the first Sea Swim South Devon and raised £20,000 for the Torquay hospice.
This year, participants can chose from two challenges; a one mile sea swim or a new Rowcroft Aquathon, a one mile sea swim followed by a two mile run.
Laura Carus, events fundraiser for Rowcroft, said: 'After the phenomenal success of the first Sea Swim South Devon, we are very excited about the new optional challenge of the Aquathon.
'We hope to see many more participants this year, either experienced triathletes or novice swimmers.
'It's a fantastic, new and challenging way to raise funds for Rowcroft.'
Last year, Rebecca Weave, an associate at Kitsons Solicitors, swam as part of the Kitsons team.
She said: 'The sea swim was a novel challenge and a really great experience.
'The day was very well organised and lots of fun.
'I am going to organise a Kitsons team again this year, hoping to get everyone having a go at the aquathon.
'I can't wait.'
Rowcroft Hospice is organising the event in conjunction with the Teignmouth RNLI, Teignbridge Council and local life saving clubs to ensure the event is safe as well as enjoyable.
Funds raised will go directly to those who are suffering from life-limiting illnesses and need Rowcroft's specialist support and care.
Entry for the event costs £12 per person for the swim and £15 for the aquathon.
Participants will be asked to raise as much in sponsorship as possible and will receive a Sea Swim South Devon swim cap, a medal and something warm to eat after completing the challenge.
All swimmers will receive a full information pack on signing up including training tips.
