THE illegal invasion of Ukraine has been slammed as the ‘biggest threat to peace’ since World War II by MP Anne Marie Morris.

As all major Western nations have reacted with outrage at Russia’s invasion of Ukraine overnight, accusing it of bringing war back to Europe, MP Anne Marie Morris added her condemnation.

Ms Morris said: ‘The illegal and unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine is the biggest threat to peace and stability since 1939.

‘No country has the right to encroach on and attack the sovereignty of another state.

‘We must stand firmly with our Ukrainian friends and give them the support they have today requested.

‘We should recognise that providing this support will not be cost free, but this is about upholding democracy and the rule of international law.

‘Now is the time for our allies across NATO to work together to deter further Russian acts of aggression.
