A COMMUNITY bulb planting event in Newton Abbot saw many of Devon’s Ukrainian guests muck in and lend a hand.

The event, which took place on Friday, December 2, saw bulbs planted in and around the Buckland Centre in Newton Abbot and was organised by Newton Abbot CIC, which was formed more than 10 years ago following completion of the Newton Abbot and District Community Plan in 2008.

Sainsburys in Newton Abbot made a sizeable donation of bulbs for Newton Abbot CIC to use in their Community Bulb planting event.

With the supermarket’s donation, Newton Abbot CIC hope to extend their bulb planting to other areas of the town, including the area around Hele Park.
