A FAST and famous guest visited Newton Abbot this week.

Gordon Shedden, leading driver in the 2015 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), popped into the Speedwell Honda showroom, Newton Abbot, on Tuesday to present a brand new model – the latest Civic Type R.

A race-prepared version of the car is Shedden’s choice of wheels in the BTCC series – he drives for Honda Yuasa Racing.

The latest road going incarnation of the legendary Type R gives fans the opportunity to enjoy something akin to the track sensation experienced by their idol at his place of work, albeit with rather more creature comforts.

With five races left in the fixtures calendar Shedden has 195 points and sits at the top of the leader board.
