NEWTON Abbot's newest educational establishment has begun recruiting the scientists and engineers of tomorrow.

Applications for places in engineering, water and the environment at the £10 million South Devon University Technical College have opened, a year in advance of the first intake this time next year.

The campus, under construction in Kingsteignton Road, is being established by the University of Exeter and South Devon College together with employers including Centrax, Galliford Try, South West Water and the Environment Agency.

The national charity Water Aid is also a partner.
