FIVE people escaped serious injury in Bovey Tracey after their Alfa Romeo crashed off the road and into the garden of the Copper Kettle tearooms.
No customers were in the garden when the car lost control on the Station Road roundabout, near the fire station, on Saturday at 9.15am.
Two of the car's occupants – a woman and a 24-year-old man – were taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
Harry Hewitson-Pullin, who runs the business with Trevor White, said: 'It was quite scary. I didn't see it happen but I did hear the noise.
