A DRIVER was hurt when his car flipped over on its roof on the new South Devon Highway at Kingskerswell over the weekend.

The casualty was taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment to shoulder and neck injuries after the accident which happened on the Newton Abbot-bound section of the £110 million link road on Saturday.

All three emergency services were called to the crash scene just before 11.30am. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

All occupants were reported to be out of the car - a Torquay-registered Peugeot 406 - when police, fire and ambulance crews showed up.

Workmen were called to repair the damaged central reservation.

It’s thought the car may have clipped a kerb.

The closed carriageway was reopened by 2pm.
