NEWTON Abbot's Victorian Evening, which saw the curtain raised on successive Wednesdays of festive late night shopping, fairs and entertainment leading up to Christmas, was another huge success.

For the first time, a food producers' market was introduced, with stalls filling the pedestrian precinct at St Leonard's Clock Tower.
