NEWTON Abbot’s late-night Christmas shopping starts on Wednesday with the town’s annual Victorian evening.

Elfic the Jester will be on hand again to entertain the youngsters from 6pm-9pm in the Market Square while the adults browse a selection of stalls which will also be in Courtenay Street.

The Mid-Devon Advertiser is among the stallholders.

Shoppers will be treated to a wide range of entertainment from fire juggling, the Spectrum Orchestra, a vintage steam organ and more.

Father Christmas will be in his clock tower grotto from 6.30pm-8.30pm with free entry.

There will be the chance for some festive dancing in the indoor market before you dash off to get raffle tickets which will be drawn at 8pm.

Tickets are available on the night as well as at the town hall.
