Chudleigh Knighton Post Office, housed in Knighton Stores, will close this summer.

Plans are already under way to relocate the service to another business in the town, and the Anchor Inn is currently in the running.

A Post Office Ltd spokesman said: 'Regrettably, following the resignation of the subpostmaster at Chudleigh Knighton Post Office, the branch will close towards the end of August.

'It remains our intention to keep a post office in Chudleigh Knighton and we are actively seeking a suitable person with premises to take on the running of the service.'
