A PUBLIC meeting has been called by villagers who allege that the heartfelt wish of a local woman who left about £1.5million do not appear to have been carried out.
When Molly Coombe, 77, died three years ago, she bequeathed the bulk of her estate for the construction of a museum with amenity land in Bishopsteignton, where she lived most of her life.
Her home in Newton Road was sold and planning permission has been given for a museum in the large garden.
An application to build three homes on the plot was refused, but it is understood a scheme for two dwellings will now be submitted.
But some residents claim they have not been able to find out from the executors of the estate the full details of what progress has been made about Ms Coombes heartfelt wish that the gardens should be an amenity area for the benefit of the museum and/or the village.
