Bovey Tracey is to push itself as a tourist destination after agreeing a partnership with Visit South Devon.

As part of the collaboration, Visit South Devon will promote the town under the ‘Discover Bovey Tracey’ brand to attract visitors and highlight the town’s attractions and amenities.

Bovey Tracey will feature across Visit South Devon’s marketing channels, including digital campaigns, newsletters and social media.

Marketing activities will include showcasing Bovey’s attractions, such as MAKE Southwest, Dartmoor Whisky Distillery, the House of Marbles and Parke National Trust, as well as seasonal events, festivals and trails. It will also highlight the town’s proximity to Dartmoor National Park.

‘We are delighted to be working with Visit South Devon to shine a spotlight on Bovey Tracey,’ said Bovey Tracey town councillor and chair of Bovey Tracey Business Association Corin Burton. ‘Our town offers a fantastic mix of history, culture and natural beauty and this partnership will help us share that with more people.’

The collaboration is aimed at strengthening Bovey Tracey’s position as a key tourism destination in the region and supporting local businesses and the community by encouraging visitors to visit, stay longer and to experience the town’s year-round appeal.

‘Bovey Tracey is a real gem of South Devon,’ commented Visit South Devon general manager Jo Butler. ‘We’re excited to support the town by increasing its visibility and helping more visitors discover what makes it so special.’

Visit South Devon is a not-for-profit community interest company that aims to support the local tourism and hospitality community by helping to raise the profile of the area.

Last month, Visit South Devon launched its ‘Days out on your doorstep’ campaign for a second year. The initiative, which runs between the end of September and February, offers discounts at dozens of attractions, restaurants and accommodations, to encourage visitors to enjoy the area in the quieter winter months.
