THESE four people are all standing in the Devon County Council elections for Dawlish.

JOHN CLATWORTHY (Con)

I am seeking re-election to represent Dawlish – a great privilege. During the last four years The Strand has been regenerated with 30 minutes’ free parking, Red Rock’s future secured and Ratcliffe School’s new classrooms. It’s important Devon receives fair funding for schools and Network Rail fund the railway improvements.

CHRISTINA DOYLE (LAB CO-OP)

Dr Doyle believes in fairness and cooperation. She is a well-known biomedical engineer and technology expert and now retired, guides collaboration between the RD&E orthopaedic teams and the University of Exeter. She is an advocate for the environment and also keeps bees in her garden in Mamhead.

DAVID GUNN (UKIP)

Having experience in the utilities industry I’m taken by how much trouble is in Dawlish with waste-water infrastructure. And with so much pressure on housing I’ve also been surprised by how many empty social housing properties there are. I’d like to ask how this situation can be justified.

MARTIN WRIGLEY (LIB?DEM)

Martin is an effective and hard-working councillor. As your county councillor he will continue to listen to residents and get things done. Dawlish has been let down, from unsafe cycle lanes to schools’ cuts, potholes to traffic problems, from overflowing sewage to the No 2 bus cuts – Dawlish deserves better.
