WHILE some areas remained relatively dry yesterday, many villages in the Teign Valley were hit by sporadic deluges of rain and large lumps of hail.

In Christow, streets and lanes were turned into rivers with large amounts of ice floating down the roads, not the average spectacle for May.

However, the wild weather was very isolated and sporadic, with Chudleigh residents reporting only a little rain.
