MUSIC lovers are in for a treat this weekend as Newton Abbot gears up for a three-day mini charity festival.
More than 20 bands are set to blast out tunes across the bank holiday weekend at the town’s Railway Brew House.
Festivities kick off at 7pm on Friday with four groups playing until just before midnight and 10 bands will be entertaining the crowds from 11.30am on Saturday.
Seven acts will be taking to the stage from midday on Sunday at the event, which has been dubbed ‘Rock for Rowcroft.’
Generous punters are being asked to help raise as much money for Rowcroft Hospice as possible through donations.
All of the bands playing are supporting the bank holiday extravaganza by performing free-of-charge, and beer business Platform 5 Brewery are going to donate 10p from every pint sold to the hospice.
Guests will also be able to snap up a fun novelty notepad, which has been produced by Newton Abbot-based business Harrier.
Martin Arliss, manager at the Railway Brew House, has set himself a fundraising target of £1,000.
‘It should be a really good event and we have had a lot of support,’ Mr said.
