A CHUDLEIGH resident who is gearing up to run the London Marathon on Sunday, October 2, has already raised more than £2,000 for a cancer support charity.
Emily Farrell has been training for the past several weeks for the upcoming London Marathon.
In 2014, Emily’s daughter lost her best friend, Zoe, to a brain tumour.
Zoe’s family were supported by Young Lives vs Cancer and so it was the natural choice for Emily when choosing a charity to support.
Emily said: ‘I am out two or three times a week for training, running in the local area, 20 miles or so.
‘We have raised around £35,000 since Zoe’s passing and I felt like it was my turn to do a big event so I thought if you are going to go big you might as well go really big.
‘Unitl the beginning of this year I was a sort of five kilometre type runner but obviously the London Marathon is a bit bigger than that!
‘I am exicted but quite apprehensive as it is my first big run.’
