A disabled widow from Bovey Tracey whose dog was attacked and needed stitches has appealed to another owner to come good on a promise to settle a £166 vet's bill.
Anne-Marie Henderson, 46, was walking her lurcher whippet cross Bobby near Chudleigh Knighton late last Wednesday morning when another woman appeared with three dogs.
Suddenly three-year-old Bobby yelped in pain and blood began running from his side.
Mrs Henderson said the other woman, whom she did not recognise, initially claimed none of her dogs had been responsible but then blood was spotted on the mouth of the woman's dog, also a lurcher whippet cross.
'When we saw that she said sorry and not to worry as she was insured and would pay for Bobby's treatment,' said Mrs Henderson
