NEWTON Abbot railway station’s lifts are to be replaced, Network Rail announced this week.
Work will start on Monday for 13 weeks, during which both lifts will be closed.
Measures are being put in place to minimise disruption for travellers while the work – part of a major investment in improvements on the rail network – is carried out.
David Crome, Great Western Railway general manager for the west, said: ‘GWR recognises the key role that rail travel has in supporting the local and national economy and I would like to thank our passengers in advance for their patience while these improvement works are ongoing.
