A 'BOLD and innovative' homespun scheme for starter homes in Christow has been given a unanimous go-ahead by Dartmoor planners.

They have given their blessing to the pioneering project which will see 18 new homes built at Layne Fields in the heart of the village.

The scheme – a joint project between Teign Housing and village members of the Christow Community Land Trust – will feature 14 affordable homes for rent and four shared ownership dwellings with restrictions on occupancy and market price.

The development on the 0.8 hectare site owned by Teignbridge Council will be a mixture of four, three and two-bedroom terraced properties, with five bungalows.
