Barrie Wilson, of Yannon Drive, Teignmouth, writes:
Re The headlines in the Teignmouth Post on Friday, May 11.
Some residents living on the seafront at Teignmouth object to the programme of events on The Den to celebrate the jubilee.
Surely these residents are not so naive as to think they can live on the front of a seaside resort without encountering organised entertainment taking place on frequent occasions throughout the year.
This is what a seaside resort is, a place of entertainment, to encourage visitors to the town to enjoy its facilities.
It is infuriating to think how these people could possibly object to events taking place, and not even spare a thought for all the hard work of local people who spend many days and sleepless nights creating and organising entertainment for visitors and locals.
I would suggest these complaining residents should stop whingeing, pull themselves together and get out there and enjoy what is to be a once in a lifetime experience.MORE LETTERS IN OUR DIGITAL EDITION
