THE rain held off for Newton Abbot Christmas Show on Saturday. Expecting a downpour, Rendells moved everything under cover at the Newton Abbot livestock market. With 116 classes in everything from Heaviest Beef Animal to Silage and Young People's Classes, the crowds poured in from surrounding farms to compete or just to have a look. Auctioneer Clive Morgan said it went well and it was particularly pleasing that the Young Farmers Section had restarted. 'It's good to see some of the young people revive their interest in it,' he said.
