Pony sessions for youngsters are back at the Mare and Foal Sanctuary.
The Happy Hooves Pony Club starts tomorrow, April 5. It introduces primary school age children to practical pony care, including making hay nets, tack cleaning and grooming some of the charity’s ponies.
Dawn Neil, the Sanctuary’s education manager, said: ‘We love these sessions because the children have such a great time getting involved in the care of our wonderful rescued ponies.
‘For any little ones mad about ponies it’s a wonderful introduction to life in a stable yard. It’s also great fun to get some hands-on experience with something small enough to make your little one feel like a true equestrian.’
There will also be hobbyhorse gymkhana games and horseshoe decorating.
The next sessions are at the charity’s Coombe Park Visitor Centre on April 5 and 12.
