Young Farmers from the South Dartmoor Group have been putting their spare time to good use training for forthcoming stock judging competitions.

The youngsters have already been put put to the test in last month's group linear final, the first of the season, during which members scored the different traits of a dairy cow.

Giving a score between one and nine for how correct the cow was in different areas the idea was, in theory at least, to almost be able to paint a cow by numbers.
