BOVEY Tracey Cricket Club is only weeks away from submitting detailed plans for a new pavilion, writes John Balment.

Today it is holding a fundraising event in the old pavilion when details of the rebuilding project – which will cost several hundred thousand pounds – is being presented to members.

Club chairman, Nigel Mountford said the club is hoping to extend its lease on the ground with the Bovey Tracey Town Council, which was agreed in principle.

The current lease had 18 years to run but the club wants to gain a 35 years lease which would open the doors for grant funding.
