KINGSTEIGNTON Bowling Club Ladies finished top of their division in the South Devon Ladies' Bowling League and will now be promoted to the next division.

Involved in this success were the following: Lizzie Maynard, Jacquie Shorter, Muriel Waldron, Margaret Sole, Margaret Hawkings, Hilary Downing, Elly Rile, Susan Hancock, Jackie Carr and Debbie Dobing.

There was also cause for celebration in the Riviera Mixed Triples as the Kingsteignton team won the league decider between the top two teams.

Ken Berry, Jackie Carr, Margaret Sole, John Saunders, Mike Riles, Martin Redfern, Lizzie Maynard, Elly Riley, Steve Hewett, Brian Smith, Stephen Maynard, Muriel Waldron, Hilary Downing, Derek Tout, Paul Sellick and Allan Baker all played a part in that memorable campaign.

Last but not least, on Wednesday, September 3, Kingsteignton BC’s over-55 X team won all rinks against Newton Abbot in their final match of the season.
