JED Baker continues to box his way to success in 2026 and his latest action was in the capital.

Back in April, the Kingsteignton fighter earned a ninth Western Counties Championship title and qualified for the National Amateur Championships as a result, where he reached the semi-finals before a controversial exit.

At the Alexandra Palace this weekend, an iconic British venue for boxing and sport in general, Jed competed in the Haringey Box Cup and brought home gold.

In his own words, Jed said: “It was a great experience boxing in a venue like the Alexandra Palace for the second time.”

He competed in the senior under 52.5kg category but due to multiple pull outs and other people missing weight, he only ended up stepping through the ropes for the final.

On the big stage, he got the job done against Zain Khan, who he previously beat in the ABA Championships earlier this year.

Zain was a lot more game and up for it this time so the pair were going toe-to-toe in a great contest for the finals of tournament.

All the same, Jed won quite comfortably, his perfectly timed shots making the difference. Clean movement and elite level of fitness also allowed him to press home his advantage.

Reflecting on the experience, Jed said: “It’s a shame that I couldn’t box every day of the tournament due to opponents pulling out and missing weight.

“However, boxing up in London is always great, most of all for the post-fight food!”

Next in Jed’s sights is the Heart Of The Dragon Box Cup in Swansea which he’s competing in between July 17 and 19.

After that, he will be battling for his fifth Riviera Box Cup title in August.
