BOVEY Tracey and Chelston & Kingskerswell were among the trophy winners at the Tolchards Devon Cricket League awards evening.

Chelston & Kingskerswell CC, skippered by Vivek Kulkarni, won promotion from the E Division West as champions.

Sady Jeelani (63.00) and Ruvan Joubert (50.43) topped the batting averages during the promotion campaign, aided and abetted by Nick Guest and Kulkarni with 475 and 368 league runs respectively.

The leading wicket-taking bowlers were Joubert (28) and Kulkarni (20).

Steve Waters, the Kerswell club’s chairman, collected the champions’ trophy on behalf of the team.

Bovey Tracey 3rd XI ran away with the F Division West title in 2022, finishing 24 points clear at the top of second-placed Teignmouth & Shaldon 2nd XI.

Ryan Jones led the batting effort for the team with 498 league runs at an average of 49.80, which included a hundred against Yelverton 2nd XI.

Bowling honours were shared between Andy Williams and Harry Pitman with 24 wickets each.

Andy Bishop, the club chairman and a playing member of the team, collected the divisional trophy from leagues chairman Nick Rogers.

The awards were handed out at the end of the league’s annual meeting, which was held at the Exeter Court Hotel at Kennford.
