RODNEY Mupfudza stroked an unbeaten 125 to guide Tavistock to a six-wicket win over Torquay & Kingskerswell that strengthened their A Division promotion chances.
Torquay & Kingskerswell meanwhile (142pts), are looking over their shoulders. They are only 17 points ahead of second-bottom Plympton in the contest to avoid being relegated alongside doomed Barton.
T&K posted 262-6 and then Tavistock losing opener Billy Barriball in the second over was far from an ideal start, but that merely brought Mupfudza in sooner rather than later.
The 2nd XI had a better weekend of it as left-arm spinner Towkir Chowdhury booked personal-best bowling figures of seven for 30 to speed Torquay & Kingskerswell 2nd XI to a 191-run home win over Kenn.
In the D Division West, they are in seventh, now one point behind Kenn and six and eight clear of Yelverton Bohemians and Barton 2nd XI respectively.
