Teignmouth tennis star Emily Syms (pictured at her recent Torbay Open win) had another tremendous week, first winning her fifth title of the summer in Birmingham and then reaching the semi-final of the national championships held at the West Hants Club in Bournemouth.
Competing in her first national championship event, nine-year-old Emily, a pupil at Trinity School, Teignmouth, produced some stunning tennis. The 16-player event was split into group stages with the top players in each group progressing to the knockout stages.
