TEIGNMOUTH AFC suffered a second defeat by a single goal when they headed on their travels to Torrington AFC.

Their 2025/26 South West Peninsula League campaign got underway with a 1-0 loss away at Ilfracombe Town and then it was Torrington who beat them this time around.

The North Devon side actually led by three goals to nil at the break, courtesy of strikes from Tom Davey, Callum Deemer and Jack Seedhouse.

Isaac Reed and Zak Khadaroo found the back of the net as Liam Jones’ men got their fightback on track, the latter being named as Teignmouth’s man of the match, but a crucial third goal alluded them unfortunately.

Next in the schedule for Teignmouth is a home game against Okehampton Argyle with Richard Washburn’s side set to visit Coombe Valley on Saturday, August 16.

Elsewhere in the Peninsula League, Bovey Tracey AFC were unable to make it two wins from two, instead sharing the spoils with Torridgeside AFC.

After an hour or so of goalless action, Cieran Bridger scored his first Bovey goal since returning to the club, having departed Western League outfit Buckland Athletic a couple of weeks ago.

Torridgeside were able to respond though and they departed Mill Marsh Park with a point to their name.

Writing on Twitter, Bovey said, “And it all ends square. Bovey will be scratching their heads wondering how they haven’t walked away with all 3 points, but credit to Torridgeside who pulled a goal back from behind and held on for the point.”

The Moorlanders will also be playing on home soil this weekend with Honiton Town the visitors, for whom this will be a first league game of the campaign.

Newton Abbot Spurs meanwhile had no game on Saturday 9 and return to action on the 16th, playing away at Crediton United.
