LONG-time Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police manager Sam Biscoe announced his intention to step down in the days prior to their clash with Bovey Tracey AFC but the Moorlanders showed no remorse on his final bow.
As we’ve seen time and time again this season in the SW Peninsula League, Bovey went flying out of the blocks at Broadley Lane and opened the scoring after just two minutes.
Levi Landricombe was the man to get the ball rolling for Ben Gerring’s side and just seconds later, he made it two from the spot. It has to be said though that in winning the penalty, the forward delivered a somewhat theatrical dive.
Cal Leech notched the third with five minutes on the clock and stalwart Lewis Perring then thundered home the fourth, a rocket into the top corner.
Landricombe completed his hat-trick before Stoke then got their consolation goal. The Moorlanders led 6-1 at the break, young Jack Brimming getting in on the scoring action.
They then added three more goals in the second half courtesy of Ollie Aplin and then another two from man of the moment Levi Landricombe.
This rounded off a truly dominant display in what is the division’s standout victory on the road to date in 2025/26.
Elsewhere, Newton Abbot Spurs followed up their 3-1 victory on Good Friday with another home win by the same scoreline on Easter Monday.
A fantastic solo effort from Callum Noyce set Spurs on their way before Harry Page and the league’s top scorer Toby Pullman helped themselves to goals too.
Over at Coombe Valley though, Teignmouth AFC were looking to bounce back from the South Devon derby defeat but to no avail. In a narrow affair, they were edged out 1-0 by Ilminster Town.
In other news, the aforementioned Jack Brimming is on trial with Exeter City this week and Bovey are through to the St Luke’s Bowl final following the withdrawal of opponents Plymouth Parkway.
