BUCKLAND Athletic announced yesterday the departure of four first-team players as Matt Cusack’s managerial tenure gets underway.
Adam Seedhouse-Evans, Sam Morcom, Frankie Jones and Adam Hill are the names in question with Morcom’s next move already confirmed. Exmouth Town of the Southern Division One South wasted no time in sharing the news of the fullback’s capture as he prepares to take a step up, his new club having finished fifth last season, losing to Evesham United in the playoffs.
One supporter responded to Buckland’s post saying, “that’s a big loss” and his former manager Hart also showed his support. Replying to Exmouth’s announcement, he wrote: “As deaf as a post, but certainly one of the very best signings I’ve made. All the very best in your next stage Morcs, enjoy every minute.”
Along with Morcom, Seedhouse-Evans and Hill were regular starters in Dan Hart’s defensive third last season whilst Jones was also able to make an impact off of the bench with his physicality in the middle of the park.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given his positioning in between the sticks, Seedhouse-Evans had the most league appearances in the Bucks’ squad in 2024/25 with 36 (as per the Western League website), Hill in tied-third (33) and Morcom next in sixth (30).
The goalkeeper was particularly vocal and led from the back so to speak, one supporter online labelling him as “very hard to replace”. Combine that with the leadership qualities that the experienced Hill brought to Homers Heath and there is a necessity for reinforcements, making this an even more fascinating summer for Cusack and co.
