FOLLOWING on from a busy start to the month that saw five new players added, Bovey Tracey AFC have now confirmed two key re-signings.

The leadership of captain Cliff Walters and the consistent threat in the final third from Lewis Perring are here to stay at Mill Marsh Park.

Both players have been Moorlanders mainstays for a good while now and so for Ben Gerring to keep them on board, whilst bringing in new faces, is a major positive.

Losing Peninsula League top scorer Ollie Aplin last summer was a major blow and Perring was one of those to step up to the plate in his absence. Only Neil Last (16) and Tom Burt (8) scored more goals than Perring in the 2024/25 league campaign as the goals were spread around more, Callum Leech, Jack Brimming, Jesse Howe and Levi Landricombe all joining him on six.

As Aplin now returns to the club and Callum Noyce arrives from Newton Abbot Spurs too, Perring can continue to be an integral part of a lethal frontline.

At the other end of the field, Cliff Walters is a hugely experienced fullback who has been through thick and thin in the red of Bovey Tracey.

He is at the heart of everything with the likes of Perring, Last, Leech and co, who have all been regulars for the team in recent years.

Manager Gerring has also looked to bolster the defence, bringing goalkeeper Dom Aplin, brother of Ollie, home and adding Jordan Thomas to the mix from Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police.

As the former Torquay United man looks to pick up where he left off at the end of last season with his team, retaining the services of this important duo is certainly going to help him on his way.
