ACROSS another successful week or two for Stover Golf Club, there have been members thriving both home and away in various competitions.

In and amongst all of this was the captain’s charity fun day with money being raised for Devon Air Ambulance. This event, put on by the captaincy trio of Alan, Ali and Richard, ended with a whopping £3,181.10 going towards the charity.

There were so many people for the captains to thank from Simon Bawden and Lesley Pascoe for their work behind the scenes to Jamie and David Topham for manning the BBQ throughout the day. From the greenkeepers to the professionals as well- Craig Passmore raising more than £300 alone for hitting balls on the tenth tee!

This year’s Duck Derby was won by number 284 Frank Yabsley, with Nick Dodd (272), John White (273) and Brian Newman (32) the next three to pass the bridge.
