Billy Green and his RCM Beta were at the top of the results at Howden Wood, Silsden, on Saturday, the Newton Abbot teenager winning the opening event in the ACU/Oset British Youth Trials Championship, hosted by Bradford & District MC.
He was just a gear up on all his rivals – 19 in total – in the class B age group.
Green (right), heading towards almost 6ft in height, won the title last year and is tipped to retain his crown this time round.
‘For his age, he displays almost uncanny talents when riding his RCM-sponsored Beta 125cc machine,’ said a championship spokes-man.
‘All the British trials machines importers are watching the Devon youngster.’
The eight-event championship takes in the Devon, the Isle of Man, Edinburgh and a finale in north Derbyshire in October.
The only competitor anywhere near Green on Saturday was Bexhill-on-Sea Sherco rider Oliver Smith, who posted a third lap score of eight penalties.
The top four finishers – Green, MRS Sherco rider Daniel Slack, Smith and local ace Jacob Snowdon detached themselves from the rest of the field – Snowdon maintaining a 25-penalty buffer over Dublin’s Adam Harris!
