Two fine wins on consecutive nights over Torbay Academy 3 9-1, and clubmates NA Eagles 8-2, gave NA Buzzards the South Devon & Torbay Table Tennis League division two title by a 17-point margin.

Buzzards’ Ed Crawford (81 per cent) and Mike Dummett (77 per cent) also finished first and second in the averages, with Charlie Usher (66 per cent) not far behind his team-mates.

The battle for the runners-up spot between the two Brixham sides was won by the Imports, who beat the Pirates 7-3 – Nick Williamson unbeaten for Imports.

Taverners, with Geoff Read and Alan Tyrrell unbeaten, claimed fourth spot, with a 7-3 victory over already-relegated Denbury Tykes – quite an achievement after their terrible start to the season.

Dawlish Aces had a fine 7-3 win over Marldon.
