River Teign Rowing Club sent three crews to Appledore for a supervets’ competition – sprint races over a course of 600 metres.

The Saturday saw 22 ladies’ teams and 20 men’s teams compete in four heats, with the top three in each going through to Sunday’s semi final, for which all three Teign crews qualified.

Teign men reached the final, fighting back from half-a-length down to finish ahead of host team Appledore to claim the title.

Both Teign ladies’ teams were the same semi. One team was disqualified due to suffering starting line trouble, with the second team rowing well but failing to secure a place in the final.
