FLEDGLING team Teignmouth Thunderbirds (TBirds) Cougars were crowned champions in the Regional Back to Netball Festival after a classy 6-2 win over Swaggamamas.

TBirds made it eight wins out of eight in the festival, organised by England Netball – which included 15 teams from across the region – to win the tournament which took place at the Paignton Sports Hub.

It was an encouraging display from the new Back to Netball club, who largely controlled proceedings, with the TBirds’ squad of ten working effectively on rotation to play almost two hours of netball.
