BOVEY Valley Runners were represented by Tim Ashman at the South Downs Way 100 miles.

Starting at 6am on Saturday 8 June, competitors have 30 hours to complete the course of the centurion event.

The route begins in Winchester, follows the beautiful South Downs Way national trail to route over the hills finishing in Eastbourne.

Tim ran very well in the heat of Saturday afternoon, needing the temperature to cool overnight. He fought through to dawn when eating became a bit easier, and then he crossed the finish line with a total time of 26.03 hours.

Elsewhere, Victoria Latham took part in the Buckland Bounder, part of the SW Fellrunners series of Dartmoor runs, and part of the Buckland Monachorum Summer Fair. With just over 10k and nearly 300m of ascent it was a challenging run. Victoria finished in 58:27.
